FlightScope Mevo Plus Review -- suited for Clearance only -- buy Mevo Gen 2, but skip it if any normal purchase -- buy mevo gen 2. Read before buying.
The FlightScope Mevo Plus has been discontinued and replaced by the Mevo Gen 2. The Gen 2 is a better product at approximately $1,000 less. If you find a Mevo Plus at a deeply discounted clearance price (under $800), it may still be worth considering. At anything close to its original $2,199 price, buying a Mevo Plus is a worse decision than buying the Mevo Gen 2.
This review exists for completeness and to help buyers who already own a Mevo Plus or find clearance stock. It is not a current purchase recommendation.
Who should still consider this
Consider it only if
- Clearance price is under $800 (50%+ below original MSRP)
- You already own one and want to understand its capabilities
- No Mevo Gen 2 stock available in your region
Skip this — buy Mevo Gen 2 instead if
- Any normal purchase scenario
- Price is over $1,000
- You want current support and firmware updates
- You want USB-C charging (Mevo Plus uses outdated USB-Mini)

Frequently asked questions
- Can I still get firmware updates for the Mevo Plus?
- FlightScope has not announced a specific end-of-support date for the Mevo Plus, but as a discontinued product, firmware updates and new software integrations will eventually stop. The existing feature set will continue working on current software versions.
- Is the Mevo Plus worth buying at clearance prices?
- At 50% or more off the original $2,199 price (under ~$1,000), it's reasonable value if you need the monitor now and no Mevo Gen 2 units are available. At higher prices, the Mevo Gen 2 is unambiguously the better buy — newer hardware, better battery, USB-C, and $900 cheaper.
- I already own a Mevo Plus — should I upgrade to the Gen 2?
- Only if the battery life limitation (2–3 hours) is causing problems in your practice sessions, or if you want USB-C charging. Core tracking performance is essentially identical between the two. The 6-hour battery is the most meaningful practical upgrade for existing Mevo Plus owners.
